Basic Sizing Principles
Reputable manufacturers build in extra space for safety features during production, so you can use your standard shoe size as a baseline without intentionally sizing up.
However, if you have wide feet, a high instep, or flat feet, it is recommended to choose a size half a step to a full step larger.

Accurate Foot Measurement
Measure your feet in the afternoon or evening; feet tend to swell slightly by then, so the measurements will better reflect how they fit during actual wear.
Stand barefoot on a sheet of white paper and trace the outline of your foot. Measure the distance from the longest toe to the heel, and use the measurement of the larger foot as your guide.

Fitting and Verification
When trying on the shoes, be sure to wear the thick protective socks you use for work. Once the shoes are on, your toes should touch the front, and you should be able to fit an index finger between your heel and the back of the shoe.
Perform movements such as squatting, walking up and down stairs, and walking on tiptoe to check for toe pinching or heel slippage.
